The Miss World Guyana Organisation wishes to thank you for your support at our recent coronation ceremony held at the Marriot on Friday, June 26, 2015.
MWG continues to discover and celebrate Guyanese women and their achievements and abilities. Conventional Pageantry is changing for the Miss World Organisation and as such our Guyanese ambassadors are required to reflect a more rounded persona.
This year saw its own challenges with a decline in applicants and with only a few meeting all the requirements. Given the low interest and political climate in Guyana, the MWG Organising thought it best to make a selection.
Selecting a delegate to represent Guyana on the Miss World stage is not new and it is the right of the Franchise, through a thorough and confidential process, to make such selections. However, the Franchise can choose to disclose some details of the section process after the selection and unveiling have been done.
To safeguard the viability of the other applicants to participate in other pageants, the Miss World Guyana Franchise has taken the position not to disclose the names of those persons.
We are excited about our new titleholder’s Beauty with a Purpose Campaign. Miss World Guyana 2015, Lisa Punch is already hard at work putting together her plans to help young people celebrate life and develop coping skills in the flight against suicide. Ms. Punch looks forward to partnering with the Ministries of Health and Education, Non-Governmental Orgaisations in Guyana and overseas, and other stakeholders.
More information will be forthcoming as the 2015 Miss World Guyana Beauty with a Purpose Campaign gets underway.
Again, the Miss World Guyana Organisation thanks you for your interest without which this would not be a success.
