Part 1
I would describe Information technology as an overarching description for the use of computers and computerized systems to perform task in a more reliable and efficient manner. I would describe information systems as a subset of information technology and speaks to an organized structure of information sharing and utilization.
Part 2
Why I want to improve my knowledge of IS and IT is because I
believe that this is the direction that the world is heading in and more particularly, my country Guyana as an developing nation will soon head into the utilization of IT and IS tools in Governance and i want to be apart of that revolution.
Part 3
Computer literacy is the understanding of the functions of the computer and how it can be used to aid in tasks. Information Literacy speaks to the comprehension of the stages of effective information flow while digital literacy delves into the understand of how binary codes function and its usefulness.
UPDATE: After postiong I subsiquently got the right degfinations from our lecturer Dr. Susan Kane however, the above was off the top of my head with yout any research.
Information technology
The most basic information technology definition is that it's the application of technology to solve business or organizational problems on a broad scale. No matter the role, a member of an IT department works with others to solve technology problems, both big and small.
